The Work Process
When
I put the brush to the canvas and start painting I can be inspired by
something I've experienced. I remember its special sound, light,
colour, scent and movements, but I don't depict it. I paint from
inside. Neither do I beforehand decide colour, form, subject nor the
size of the painting. I add colour to the canvas, gaze at it, add some
more colour layer after layer, and am throughout having a dialogue with
the painting. New subjects rise from the painting, change, are painted
over or enhanced. The picture is transformed subsequently until it's
finished. The story gets an ending and the journey reaches its goal.
